8-12-Year-Old Age Group

Congratulations, Jordan Beaver, the 2009 Triad Idol!

The pride of Cleveland County, 11-year-old Jordan Beaver lives in Shelby and is a fifth-grader at Union Elementary. Jordan has been invited to attend the Neil Semer Vocal Institute in Germany this fall. She sang, “O Mio Babbino Caro” (“Oh my dear papa"), from Puccini’s opera, Gianni Schicchi.

 

Congratulations, CiCi Jansen, the first runner-up!

Twelve-year-old CiCi Jansen traveled all the way from Cornelius, outside of Charlotte, to participate in TRIAD IDOL. CiCi just finished sixth grade at Lincoln Charter School in Denver. She works daily on her singing with her mom and also practices with her choir director, Shannon. CiCi recently won an opportunity to record a demo for Jive Records. She sang, “Anyway.”

Congratulations, Logan Welborn, the second runner-up!

Lewisville’s Logan Welborn is a 9-year-old fifth-grader at  Forsyth Country Day School. She has been singing since before she could talk, and has performed at school, church, and with the Westside Civic Theatre. Logan is also a huge Demon Deacons’ football fan! She sang, “Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows.”

 

Congratulations, Julia Solomon, the audience favorite!

Greensboro’s Julia Solomon is 12 years old and a sixth-grader at Canterbury School. Performing is in Julia’s blood—she loves singing, acting, and dancing! She also is spending a lot of time these days with her new puppy, Ringo. Julia sang, “Popular,” from the Broadway smash, Wicked.

 



13-18-Year-Old Age Group

Congratulations, Anna Belle Lusk, the 2009 Triad Idol!

Fifteen-year-old Anna Belle Lusk is a ninth-grade home-schooler who lives in Cornelius. The youngest of five children, Anna Belle loves knitting, reading, playing tennis, polka dots, and everything chocolate! She’s on the worship team at Grace Covenant Church, where she leads worship for elementary students. Anna Belle sang, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” from The Wizard of Oz.

 

Congratulations, Mackenzie Roberts, the first runner-up!

Mackenzie Roberts traveled all the way from Greenville to compete in TRIAD IDOL. She’s 16 years old and an honor-roll student at South Central High in Winterville. A member of her school chorus, Beta Club, Key Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Mackenzie also runs track and plays volleyball. Mackenzie sang a medley of Nat “King” Cole and Natalie Cole songs—“Orange Colored Sky,” “Paper Moon,” and “L-O-V-E.”

Congratulations, Dionna Daniel, the second runner-up!

Rural Hall’s own Dionna Daniel is 14 years old and an eighth-grade honor student at Northwest Middle School in Winston-Salem. A TRIAD IDOL finalist in 2008, Dionna loves to sing, act, play piano, draw portraits, and read. She sang the National Anthem at the 2009 MEAC basketball tournament. She sang, “Get Here.”

 

Congratulations, Andria Lowman, the audience favorite!

Eighteen-year-old Andria Lowman lives in Eden. When she’s not working at Ruby Tuesday, Andria sings karaoke, babysits her god-daughter, hangs out with her friends, and goes shopping. Andria's performance of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” had the audience cheering and singing along!

 

 

19-and-Older Age Group

Congratulations, Niccole Stephens, the 2009 Triad Idol!

Niccole Stephens has seven children—all of whom she adores! Niccole, who lives in High Point, works at Dental Works in Winston-Salem. She worships and serves as choir director at Cornerstone of Faith Church. (A large cheering section from her church came to the Final Event!) Niccole sang, “I Believe in You and Me.”

 

Congratulations, Chrissy Simpson, the first runner-up!

Greensboro resident and three-time TRIAD IDOL finalist Chrissy Simpson loves singing almost as much as she loves talking! (And that’s a lot—just ask her fellow contestants!) Chrissy—who also enjoys skating and watching movies—works at Click-n-Cuts in High Point. Barefoot on the huge Carolina Theatre stage, Chrissy sang, “Footprints in the Sand."

 

Congratulations, LaShawn Millner, the second runner-up!

Greensboro’s LaShawn Millner is on the go all the time! This three-time TRIAD IDOL finalist attends Guilford Tech and works at Aetna Health Insurance in High Point. He’s performed in Black Nativity at the Barn Dinner Theatre and is currently working on an independent album. LaShawn sang, “Closer.”

 

Congratulations, Bobby Pittman, the audience favorite!

The second runner-up in TRIAD IDOL 2008, Bobby Pittman of Greensboro has become very involved with the CTG family, performing non-stop since March 2008. The father of beautiful twin daughters who are growing up before our eyes, Bobby works at Cross Fluid Power. Bobby sang (and danced to), “This Is a Man’s World."
